Family Sunday


March 19 | 2 - 4pm | INTERACTIVE PLAY & CHERRY BLOSSOM ART presented by special guest Michael Abe and the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society  

Michael Abe is a Nikkei Sansei, and has been involved in the Japanese Canadian community in both Ontario and Victoria, maintaining close ties with Japan. Michael and his family (wife and young daughter) will lead us in experiments with Japanese calligraphy and traditional forms inspired by Sakura, cherry blossoms. Join in on an interactive play for the whole family! The play will be offfered twice between 2 - 4pm.

Enjoy a fun-filled family afternoon of exploring hands-on art-making and ideas connected to current exhibitions ...and programming! Join us for cool activities for all ages which take place throughout the Gallery, including the gardens in warmer months. This recurring program often features special guests like storytellers, artists, performers or musicians - every third Sunday of the month (Oct - June from 2 - 4pm)!
